Most guests don’t seem particularly impressed by the décor, facilities or service at the Norfolk Plaza, but they do concede that the location is great for a budget property.
The Norfolk Plaza Hotel occupies several converted and connected grade II-listed Victorian townhouses, albeit with a more modern entrance. The medium sized lobby is decorated in beige and brown tones, with a marble floor and light wood furniture, all of which create an elegant but warm atmosphere upon arrival. Adjoining it is a bar/lounge area with leather sofas and a big plasma screen TV. Tastefully appointed, with natural fabrics and pastel décor, the 87 guestrooms are on average medium sized. All are clean and decently maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. The hotel offers a hot and cold buffet every morning in its breakfast room, which, although located on the lower ground floor, is bright and welcoming.
